Spiritual Cultivation

Zoe Rwanda Terimbere recognizes that many youth and vulnerable families draw strength from their faith and spiritual life, but it never forces anyone to convert or join a particular church. Instead, the program creates a respectful space where participants can reflect, pray, and share according to their own beliefs and traditions. This helps participants who have experienced loss, rejection, or trauma to rediscover hope, dignity, and a sense that their lives have value and purpose.

Spiritual activities are woven into regular group meetings rather than run as a separate project. Each time the group gathers, they hold a short devotion that may include a Bible reading, prayer, singing, or a simple reflection. Youth are encouraged to share testimonies about what they are going through, and group members support one another through difficulties, celebrations, and important life decisions. Moments such as Christmas or other special days become opportunities for shared worship and celebration that deepen bonds within the group.

This spiritual support is always linked to everyday behavior. Participants are encouraged to live out values like compassion, honesty, forgiveness, and mutual help in their businesses, families, and communities. As their faith and inner confidence grow, many youth begin to act as role models and informal leaders — treating customers fairly, caring for vulnerable neighbours, and promoting peace in their communities. In this way, spiritual growth goes hand in hand with social and economic transformation, reinforcing the wider impact of the program.
