Child’s Rights
Zoe Rwanda Terimbere places child rights at the centre of all its work with youth and vulnerable families. Group sessions introduce participants to key rights, based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Content is presented in simple language using stories, role-plays, and discussions that respect local culture while challenging harmful norms. Within programme groups, participants are encouraged to speak, share their experiences, and take leadership roles. Youth committees and peer-support structures help them raise concerns safely and contribute to group decision-making. As they gain knowledge and confidence, participants become advocates for their own rights and those of their siblings and peers.
Zoe Rwanda Terimbere assists its participants with child right assistance in terms of legal negotiation, paternity right, youths’ property recovery and other assistance related with child right Besides, Zoe provided the youths with training on child right. Through the training the youths learnt how and where to seek assistance in case of child right violation.
Families are supported to reduce harmful practices such as child labour, early marriage, and violence at home, and to seek help when abuse occurs. By combining awareness, safe spaces, and economic strengthening, the program ensures that child rights are respected not just in theory but in daily family and community life.
